We are the Trestle Valley Longshots of Minot, North Dakota. We specialize in Quigley style long range shooting with buffalo guns.
Welcome to the official online home of the Trestle Valley Longshots
a little about us
We are Minot, North Dakota’s newest shooting discipline, and we put your long-range precision to the test.

What we do is called buffalo gun shooting, or simply buffalo shooting. Our matches pit you against targets ranging between 50 and 725 yards away. Like with the Quigley Match in Montana, the challenge is hitting each of the targets without the aid of modern technology. We have different categories to participate in, so please check our Rules page for more information.
New shooters are always welcome. And kids can join in too! We just ask that they are familiar with firearm safety and usage, and that they can follow the rules.

MRPC hosts our matches at the upper half of the rifle range on the 4th Saturday of each month starting in April and running through September. If the weather is good in October, we may even hold a bonus match.
The day of the match
8:00 - 10:00 AM   -  Registration and practice
  - New shooter orientation

10:00 AM   - Safety and rules briefing
10:05 AM   - Match begins and continues until done
